MINDFULNESS PRACTICE

Mindfulness involves being much more than it involves doing anything. Still, some degree of effort and discipline are involved. There are an infinite number of ways to practice mindfulness skillfully, and many different teachers and teachings to learn from. All are ultimately different doors into the very same room — the room of open-hearted human awareness.

Together, we can find a mindfulness practice that is right for you. As a certified mindfulness facilitator, my goal is to support you in developing a daily formal and informal mindfulness practice. In that way, you are taking significant steps to connect in deeper ways with yourself, and your own beauty and capacity for learning, growing, healing, and transformation across this lifetime.

MBSR

In a constantly shifting world with an accelerating onslaught of information coming at us, it’s more important than ever to develop and nurture regular awareness-based practices that promote wakefulness, compassion, and wisdom. Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) was developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn in 1979 and is considered the gold standard in mindfulness training. 

This offering is for those who feel stuck from habits caused by the uncertainties of everyday life. If you are sometimes overwhelmed with worry, distracted by recurring thoughts, experiencing problems with restlessness, tension, or insomnia you may have a habit or even be addicted to anxiety or stress which is often an upstream cause of other habits and behaviors.

If you are struggling with your career, happiness, family, success, or simply feel that you are not enough exactly as you are today, it's time to take a nuanced look at your whole self.

Everyone needs something a little different in order to create a shift that expands their perspective. After assessing each client’s unique situation and set of needs, I create a completely custom experience aimed to address every facet of your life: everything from your hobbies and career to your interpersonal relationships and family dynamics. From there, I act as a guide to identify the areas of stagnancy as we work to create change.

MINDFULNESS MEDITATION

Mindfulness meditation is a simple and very powerful practice of training our attention. Over the last 30 years, academic research in the fields of neuroscience, psychology and physical medicine have documented the wide-ranging benefits of learning to meditate. Indeed, the evidence has shown that it can be an effective aid in the treatment of many mental and physical health issues, as well as generally improving our performance, relationships, and well-being. As well as group courses, Neil offers private mindfulness and mindful self-compassion sessions for those that prefer to learn on a one-to-one basis.
